The Day of Schmoop
And lo, the day of SCHMOOP is almost upon us. The 30th, the big day o' SCHMOOP draws nigh and we said, bless those who brought fic to make us all smile and say "Dawwwww!".

There's already been some absolutely wonderful fics posted and I'm looking forward to more. Not sure of posting requirements? The rules are here. I will be creating a master list over the next couple of days so you can find all your SCHMOOP-y needs in one place.

April is here... let the Schmoop begin!

All schmoop-based fic is welcome in this community. If you've written something treacle-sweet previously and it's not one of the challenge prompts, feel free to post. The schmoop fest will run through to April 30th, the BIG DAY OF SCHMOOP. All stories posted to this community will be archived into memory and a Master List will be posted shortly after the Day of Schmoop.

There are still plenty of prompts up for grabs in the prompts list. Don't make me steal them all!

A few rules -

* This comm is for schmoop-based fic only. No sneaking your angst-ridden epic on here!

* Stories based on the challenge prompts should be 500 words at least or a series of drabbles over that word count. There is no maximum length but please don't bombard us with little chunks of an epic. If your story is a big one, post to your own journal and add a post with a link to all chapters to the comm.

* You may post your stories directly to the community or provide a link to your own journal or website. LJ-CUTs are your friend. Any stories posted directly to the comm and not cut will be deleted.

* All ratings are welcome but please let us know what they are. Rate your story in your header and give appropriate warnings.

* Put any images behind an LJ cut. Anything posted without a cut will be removed. It screws up everyone's Friends page and grumpiness is not condusive to SCHMOOP.

* Feel free to post a story, come back to the prompt list and snag something else.

Master List of Prompts
Below is a list of 64 prompts for toothache inducing SCHMOOP! The top of the list is generic prompts you can write in ANY fandom and below that are fandom specific prompts.

You may claim up to two prompts, and each prompt may be claimed only once. (I'll try to cross them off as they're claimed) The prompts list will be open for claiming throughout the challenge, so if you finish those two stories and want to come back for more to cover us with more sticky, sweet SCHMOOP then feel free to do so.

Stories should be at least 500 words in length, though if you prefer drabbles you may write several drabbles instead. If the pairing or lack thereof is not specified in the prompt, your story may be gen, slash or het. Likewise, all genres, styles, and ratings are permitted.

Call for Prompt-age
Schmoop, what is it? According to the Urban Dictionary ~

Lurve. Sickly sweet romantic crap.

To be schmoopy is to make others vomit with your cavity inducing displays of affection. To want schmoop is normal, don't be alarmed. Submit.

Sometimes you just need a little schmoop in your life.

Prompts for the Schmoop challenge will be taken through till 16th March.

If you have ideas for schmoopy stories you'd love to see written, just comment on this post with a list of ideas. You can suggest as many prompts as you like, for any type of story in any genre or pairing (or lack thereof) as long as it's schmoopy. Character studies, gen, slash, or het, horror (fluffy horror!), crack, porn, future- and past-fic, crossovers, AUs, missing canon scenes, anything.

You can suggest prompts on this post until March 16th. On March 17-18, there will be a posted list of the prompts and it will be opened up for claiming. The fest will officially begin on March 20th and run until April 30th, the day of SCHMOOP.

Note: You do not have to suggest or claim prompts to participate in the SCHMOOP. Also, you may suggest prompts even if you don't think you'll write anything, and you may claim prompts if you didn't suggest any.
